This picture was taken from a classroom in some university...not staged!!! It's kinda funny to think about Apple's 1984 commercial after seeing this picture...I wonder if this kinda thing irritates Steve Jobs since in some ways it contradicts "Think Different."

dont think Jobs is irritated. he's in the business of making money. he could probably care less if people are thinking differently. 'think different' was 10 years ago, which is what got him to where he is today. now im sure all he's concerned about is the sound of the cash register, ching ching!

qouted for agreement =)
But I would like to ad that Jobs seems to be driven by creating a means to a better digital life and it shows through the kinds of products he launches. I believe money is definitely a driving force for anybody, but I like to believe that when you are flat out good at something, the money will come naturally.....and Mr. Jobs is flat out good =) Just my 2 cents.
Think different was Apple's ad campaign, bnut their brand is built around the pillar's of intuitivw design, simplicity, and accessibility. It makes sense that by disrupting a very user-unfriendly category they made a product that would appeal to the masses. There's a chapter in the Chuck Klosterman book "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs" that argues that pop country music is the most brilliant and relevant music of our time because it isn't trying to be clever. It just reflects mainstream American culture simply and accurately. In the same manner, Apple has created products that live as a reflection of the culture in which theyt exist.
